Girly Bits Boo-berry

Hey Hussies! Ive had a lovely Haloweeny day with my husband and daughter, we went to the local pumpkin patch to choose out pumpkins and came home with two small ones and one that was too big to fit in out car boot! We then spent the afternoon carving them out :-)

Here's what we came up with...

My daughter did the big pumpkin, I did the witch and my husband did the face :-)

Anyway on to today's polish. Today I have one of the Halloween Collection by Girly Bits called Boo-berry. Its the most stunning shade of violet jelly with blue, purple, fuchsia and black glitter. This polish has such depth and the black glitter adds real interest to the mix. The great thing about this polish is that although its part of the Halloween collection, its not too Halloweeny, this is a polish that I know I'll wear again and again.

Here I layered two coats of Boo-berry over a base of Spa Ritual Shooting Star and followed that with one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

Here you can see the real depth of the colours and the squishyness of the jelly base

Darling Diva Wicked Attraction

I'm trying like crazy to get all of my Halloween polishes swatched and bloged about by Wednesday!

Darling Diva Wicked Attraction was originally destined to be one of her Halloween polishes but instead it ended up as part of the core range. I think its dark enough to be in the Halloween collection so here it is!

Wicked Attraction is a purple/indigo jelly based polish with lots of purple, blue and iridescent glitters, there's even a dash of holo dust in the mix for good measure. The formula was easy to work with and glided on like a dream. I added a little water decal by OPI to my ring finger that my friend Sui Ling sent to me as part of my Secret Pumpkin swap gift, thank you Sui Ling :-)

For these swatches i layered two coats of Wicked Attraction over a base of China Glaze Techno Teal and followed that up with a coat of Gelous and a coat of Seche Vite.

CrowsToes VooDoo

Continuing on with the Halloween theme (oh I'm a poet and I didn't know it!) I have VooDoo by my new favourite indie maker CrowsToes for you today.

VooDoo is a perfect Halloween polish with the expected orange and purple glitter but it has a twist as some of the purple glitter is shards which makes this quite unique. The base is clear with micro green and purple glitters which also adds interest.

I thought what better colour than a stark, ghostly white to layer VooDoo over as it shows off all of the colours, shapes and sizes of the glitter beautifully. I topped this off with a coat of Gelous and two coats of Seche Vite for extra smoothness and gloss.

Darling Diva Polish Xenobabe

OK so this polish isn't strictly from a Halloween collection BUT it is inspired by the Alien movies, which to those that don't have horror hardened souls like I do, were pretty scary!

Xenobabe has a multitude of glitters in all shapes, colours and sizes including stars, moons and gorgeous holographic silver hex glitter, all suspended in a clear base. This polish is a glitterbomb!

Here I have layered one coat of Xenobabe in the dabbing method over a base of Color Club 220 Volts and topped it off with a coat of Gelous and one coat of Poshe.

See how the light catches the holographic hex glitter!?

The Polish Bar Witch's Delight

In the run up to Halloween I'm going to cram as many Halloweeny polishes in as possible. Today I have a little something from The Polish Bar.

This is Witch's Delight, a really unique Halloween polish that uses matte glitters instead of metallic ones like many others that we have seen this season. There are orange, black and purple matte micro glitter and lager reddish orange hex glitters as an accent, all suspended in a clear base. The formula is easy to work with and the coverage is brilliant, you can reach full opacity in three coats.

You could also layer it over a lighter colour to get a less vampy look, it would look great layered over a spooky green!

For these swatches I layered two coats of Witch's Delight over a base of OPI Midnight In Moscow, followed by one coat of Seche Vite. The glitters lay fairly flat to the nail so I didn't need to use Gelous :-)

Pretty Serious Cosmetics Poltergeist Puddle and Lynnderella Cauldron Drippings

Hiya Hussies! Sorry I've been missing for so long but I've not been well and I needed to take a step back from everything to get myself better.

Last Friday I drew the winner of the $50 Llarowe gift voucher and the lucky lady was Maggie Correia!! Ill be announcing a new giveaway on Friday :-)

Halloween is fast approaching so I thought id do a mani with one of the new Monster Mash Collection by Pretty Serious Cosmetics and Cauldron Drippings, a golden oldie from Lynnderella.....

Poltergeist Puddle

Poltergeist Puddle is part of the new Monster Mash Collection by Pretty Serious Cosmetics. Its an intense purple polish with a brilliant blue and purple shimmer running through it and a pink flash in certain lights. The application of this polish was flawless and reached full opacity and depth in two coats. I topped this mani of with a coat of Seche Vite for added gloss.

See the pink flash?

Such a saturated, intense colour

Lynnderella Cauldron Drippings

Ahhhhh an oldie but goodie! Cauldron Drippings is an individual mix of orange glitters in all shapes and sizes mixed with the "left overs" from other Halloween polishes that Lynnderella has created. My bottle has green, purple, blue and even a little pink in the mix, but it all depends on what was left over at the end of the day, no two bottles are alike.

I found the best way to apply this polish is with the dabbing method and then pushing the glitter around while the polish is still wet to get it in the position you want it. Here I topped the manicure off with a coat of Gelous and two coats of Seche Vite.

Darling Diva Polish The Pumpkin Queen

Halloween is fast approaching and I cant wait! I love all things Halloween (except my daughters choice of costume this year, shes going to be a slutty, schoolgirl zombie. Some battles just cant be won...!!!)

Today's polish is The Pumpkin Queen by Darling Diva Polish. Pumpkin Queen is a spooky mix of orange matte, metallic and holographic glitters, large purple hex glitter, blue hex glitter and green square glitter. Its prefect for layering over any base colour and the orange really pops off the nail!

The formula is a delight to work with, the glitter is suspended perfectly in the base and covers the nail evenly without having to dab or push it into the correct position.

Here I chose to layer Pumpkin Queen over a plum base colour, to accentuate the orange and green glitter. The swatches show two coats of Pumpkin Queen followed by one coat of Gelous and one coat of Poshe.

BB Couture Dragon's Breath

When the lovely Kim from Overall Beauty asked if  would do a swatch of BB Couture Dragon's Breath I instantly fell in love with it. This polish couldn't be more "up my street" if it tried.

Dragon's Breath is a vampy, purple based maroony red polish with a magical dusting of tiny silver glitter. This polish is truly lit from within and I've been staring at it all day.

This is the first BB Couture that I've tried and I was really impressed. The formula was easy to work with and although it was a little streaky on the first coat the second coat evened it all out perfectly. I really want to try more of their range now, they have some awesome colours.

The swatches here show two coats of Dragon's Breath followed by two coats of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

The Polish Bar Eternal Sunshine

We had a little bit of Autumn sunshine today in the UK which totally made me feel like breaking out Eternal Sunshine by The Polish Bar.

If you like Candeo Jellybean you'll LOVE Eternal Sunshine! In all honesty I think I prefer it to Jellybean, Eternal Sunshine is a lovely flattering shade of yellow and the glitter is more delicate.

Eternal Sunshine has a pale creamy yellow crelly base with fuchsia and navy small hex glitter, purple medium size hex glitter, purple square glitter and lots of pink and navy micro glitter. The base is just the perfect consistency to allow the lower layers of glitter to peek through, giving this polish a really multi-dimensional effect. It really is like summer in a bottle and it made me really happy to wear :-)

The formula was a good consistency and easy to work with and there was no fishing for glitter. The swatches here show three coats of Eternal Sunshine followed by one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite (which sadly caused a little shrinkage).
