Girly Bits Smurf Dance

Today I have the Limited Edition Smurf Dance to show you by Girly Bits. Smurf Dance is a total bomb of blue holographic glitter, white various sized hex and square glitter, blue various sized hex and square glitter and blue and white bar glitter.

In the sunlight this polish is crazy! Its so sparkly it blows your socks off. My photos do not do this polish justice!

The formula is easy to work with and the glitters lay flat to the nail, no curling here at all. For the swatches I layered two coats of Smurf Dance over a base of Roger That (see here) and topped it off with a coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

Pibble Polish Faithful Friend

Today's polish is from newbies Pibble Polish. Pibble Polish create polishes inspired by rescue dogs everywhere! I'm a massive dog lover and have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Rags who I love like a child, so when I saw Faithful Friend I knew it had to be mine.

Faithful Friend is a mixture of fuchsia, purple and blue glitters in various shapes and sizes suspended in a clear base. Its made to be layered over a base colour and I thought Girly Bits Arctic Sunrise would be the perfect partner.

The formula was easy to work wit and a decent amount of glitter came out on the brush. The swatches here show two coats of Pibble Polish Faithful Friend over a base of Girly Bits Arctic Sunrise, followed by one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

How cute is this!? After a days wear I thought I'd see what it looked like with a matte top coat so I popped a coat of Essie Matte About You on and I loved the results....

Just to finish off here is a little shot of my faithful friend, Rags :-)

Girly Bits Slapdash Collection Part 2

Today I have the final two polishes from the Slapdash Collection by Girly Bits. Part 1 of the collection can be found here.

Cu Blue

Cu Blue is my total favourite from the whole collection, not only do I love the name (I'm a total science geek!) the colour is fab!

Cu Blue is a dark inky indigo jelly with masses of copper simmer/micro flakies. Its totally unique and gorgeous. The formula is a jelly so it takes three coats to reach opacity but its well worth it. The photos make the polish look sheer but it wasn't in real life.

The swatches show three coats of Cu Blue followed by one coat of Seche Vite.

Jelly Shoes

Jelly shoes is a blindingly bright neon pink jelly with masses of blue shimmer that is not shy. I really struggled to capture this polish on film :(

The formula is a little sheer to be worn without undies (unless you don't mind a visible nail line) so I popped two coats of Jelly Shoes over a base coat of white which really made the colour pop. I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Girly Bits Slapdash Collection part 1

After the dark spooky colours of the Halloween collection that I've swatched over the past few days I fancied a change of pace. Yes it may be wet and dreary outside but that doesn't mean it cant be summer on my nails :-)

I recently got my little mitts of the Slapdash Collection by Girly Bits and its just summer in bottles!

Arctic Sunrise

Arctic Sunrise is a stunning sky blue colour with masses (and I mean masses) of pink shimmer that is visible in all lights and at all angles. This is the shimmer I wanted to see in Aqua Lily by RBL but didn't.

The formula is smooth and easy to work with, needing only two coats to reach full opacity. For these swatches I topped off my mani with one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

Banana Hammock

Banana Hammock is quite a unique polish. I find yellow a very hard colour to wear but this yellow actually works for me. Its not quite a neon, not quite a lemon and not quite a banana (if that makes sense!).

Maybe its the gorgeous blue/green shimmer that comes out to play in the autumn sun that makes this polish my surprise favourite of the collection.

The formula is a crelly and it needs a few coats to become fully opaque (with no nail line). I found the best way to wear this polish was to layer it over a white base as it gave the true colour of the polish. The swatches here show two coats of Banana Hammock over a white base and topped off with one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

See the blue/green shimmer?

Glo Worm

When my daughter first saw this she went nuts over it and I had to do her nails immediately, she called it highlighter green! That's exactly the colour that springs to mind with Glo Worm, its a bright lime green packed with yellow shimmer that is not shy. This colour dances in the sunlight, its truly stunning.

The formula is jelly like so it needs a few coats to reach full opacity and no visible nail line. I preferred to layer it over a white base as I did with Banana Hammock, it gives the green extra pop! The swatches here show two coats of Glo Worm over a white base, followed by a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

Dollish Polish This Is Halloween Collection Part 3

Today I have the final instalment of the new This Is Halloween Collection by Dollish Polish (part 1 and part 2 can be seen here).

Somethings Up With Jack

Somethings Up With Jack is a mixture of small black hex glitter, small white square glitter, small blue square glitter, medium sized blue hex glitter and black and white bar glitter all suspended in a clear base. This polish is made to be layered over a base colour, and seeing as though its all about Halloween I chose Girly Bits Sailors Delight as undies, a succulent orange with golden shimmer.

The formula was easy to work with and the glitters lay pretty flat to the nail. I had no problems with the bar glitter curling up which can be a bit pesky in other polishes.

The swatches here show two coats of Somethings Up With Jack over Girly Bits Sailors Delight followed by a coat of Gelous and a coat of Seche Vite.

Whats This? Whats This?

The final polish of the collection is Whats This? Whats This? This polish is Halloween in a bottle with all the classic Halloweeny (yes I used that word again!) colours. There is black, white, orange, green and purple glitters in lots of different shapes and sizes. The base is clear with silver micro glitter so again its perfect for layering over a base colour.

My first try with Whats This? Whats This? was over a base of Dollish Polish He Slimed Me! which is a micro fine green glitter polish (for some reason it looks a little yellowed in the photos but its definitely green). These swatches show two coats of Whats This? Whats This? over He Slimed Me! followed by one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

Dollish Polish Whats This? Whats This?

I loved this combination because you can see the black glitters but I noticed that you couldn't see the micro glitter. So off it came and on went a coat of Cult Nails Nevermore and two coats of Whats This? followed by a coat of Gelous and a coat of Seche Vite. Over a black base this polish really comes alive!

See the micro glitter?

So there you have it, the whole This Is Halloween Collection. I love the whole collection but I'm a total Halloween lover so I've gone a bit crazy with the Halloween polish buying this year! My favourites from this collection are Vampires Coven, Spectral Pup and Whats This? Whats This?

Which have been your favourites? I'd love to see your swatches on my Facebok page!
