Girly Bits Cosmic Ocean

Hello lads and lassies :-)

Today i have Girly Bits Cosmic Ocean, a wonderful blue/green colour shifting top coat. This polish is best when layered over dark colours so i thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try out the fantastic Cult Nails Nevermore (the best black on the market, i guarantee you!).

This polish rocks my socks! Unfortunately the sun didn't want to play in the UK today but that didn't stop this polish from showing off some amazing colour shifts.

Green is the predominant colour that i saw today (damn you sun!) its almost like a ummm.......dragon scale type green, not sure if that makes ANY sense at all lol!

Here you can see the blue/turquoise/green colour shift a little more clearly

Yay for a little sun! The blue came out to play, just look at that awesome colour shift :-D

This is the royal blue showing its most flashy side and it truly is a glorious sight

The blue/green colour shift

You may have guessed from the number of photos that I'm a bit of a fan of this polish, this is just a selection of over 50 photos i took today.

Pam has a wonderful selection of polishes including glitters, duo/multichromes and holographics at the Girly Bits store and you can keep up to date with product launches and restocks at the Girly Bits Facebook page. Enjoy! ;-)

Cult Nails Hypnotize Me

'Ello all! I got nail mail today in the form of three Cult Nails polishes, Hypnotize Me, Feel Me Up and Nevermore. These were from the amazingly generous $5.00 sale Maria had a few weeks ago :-)

I decided to "recycle" yesterdays Nails Inc Baker Street and use it as a base for Hypnotize Me. Ill level with you now, the only reason i brought this colour was because of the sale and it was the last one i needed to complete my Cult Nails collection (i am now the proud owner of everything they have made). I thought this was just another basic green jelly with green glitter and if I'm honest in the bottle it doesn't look that special either, but oh my! Get this baby on the nail and pure magic works in front of your eyes!

This humble polish is a miracle worker and i haven't been able to stop looking at my nails all day. It turned Baker Street into a glowing blue/green duo-colour glittering beacon! This polish is a little on the thick side but that doesn't effect the application, the photos show one coat of Hypnotize Me over Baker Street and one (yes, just one) coat of Seche Vite.

Ill let the photos do the talking while i go back to cursing at myself for leaving it so long to buy this baby..!

Photographed in the shade

Photographed in bright sunlight, just look at the light dance on the glitter!

Shot in the sun with the flash on to shoe the duo-colour goodness

Even in the shade this polish looks amazing

Cult Nails do it again, can they do no wrong? These amazing polishes are available at the Cult Nails online store and you can keep up to date with releases and special offers on their Facebook page.

Nails Inc Baker Street

Today i want to show you one of the BEST blues on the market. This is Nails Inc Baker Street, it just so...blue! This polish is wondrous, the swatches here are just two coats, its self levelling, fast drying and glossy and i love it.

Now i do have to admit that no, it isn't as incredibly blue as Rescue Beauty Lounge IKB:2012. But it doesn't have the application problems that i have found with IKB:2012, it also doesn't have the steep price tag AND its easy to find!

Ive popped a couple of comparison shots at the bottom of the post for you to see for yourself how it compares to my other favourite blues.

In full sunlight

In the shade (granted it doesn't look any different but i just couldn't stop taking photos!)

Comparison shot: index finger - RBL IKB:2012, middle finger - Nails Inc Baker Street, ring finger - Barry M Indigo, pinky finger - Barry M Cyan Blue

Index finger: RBL IKB:2012
Middle finger: Nails Inc Baker Street
Both of these swatches are two coats, however on the IKB:2012 you can still see a slight VNL :-(

Ahhhhh how i love a good blue.

Nails Inc polishes are available here. They have wonderful customer service and their polishes are salon quality.

Dollish Polish It's A Me Mario!

Ahhhhh the beauty that is red, white and blue...

Today's mani is It's A Me Mario! from Dollish Polish over a crisp white base. I chose this today to celebrate Memorial Day in the USA. For my non American friends Memorial Day is a nationally observed holiday to remember the men and women that serve and protect the country. Its like Remembrance Day that we have in the UK.

It's A Me Mario! seemed appropriate as it contains striking red and blue glitter (it also has holographic stars but i chose to leave them out of this mani) and when layered on  white base it has the colours of both the US and UK flags, my way of bringing us all closer.

This glitter is just what you have come to expect from Dolly, its densely packed and could achieve full coverage in three coats, it also lays flat to the nail so there are no nasty bumps. The swatches show one coat of Mario and one coat of Seche Vite.

OMG I'm totally ashamed of my cuticles in this photo!! This is why you should moisturise!!

Oooooooh close up! Check out those holo stars

This is a must have for any Mario fans, it screams awesomeness! Dollish Polish are available at her online store and you can keep up to date with openings and new releases at the Dollish Polish Facebook page.

Sinful Colors Love Nails and Hottie

So i was looking through my posts over the past two weeks and noticed a pink theme running through out, so i decided to do a blue mani today.

I used Sinful Colours Love Nails for the base colour. Love Nails is a sea blue with turquoise shimmer running through it, in some lights it looks blue and in other lights it looks turquoise. The application was easy and smooth and the swatches show two coats.

Here you can see the turquoise shimmer

I then decided to layer Sinful Colors Hottie over the top. Hottie is a pale blue iridescent glitter in a blue jelly base. The swatches show one coat of Hottie over Love Nails.

Then i added a matte top coat. Gosh i LOVE matte glitter!

Sinful Colors are available at most US drug stores and for those in the UK they are available at Sinful Colors UK.

Lynnderella Liquid Valentine

Ok so you might be able to tell I'm going through an anxious patch tonight which is why i have two blog posts. Painting my nails is the only way i can stay grounded so during times like these you get more nail porn lol!

Following on from Cult Nails Enticing i thought i would add a coat of the wonderful Lynnderella Liquid Valentine to juuuush it up a bit. Whoa is this polish pretty and it goes with so many base colours. Lynnderella is a genius!

So before i ramble on too much, because lets face it you mostly come here for the pictures here we go...! Plus this polish is so awesome it deserved extra large photos!

Sooooooo many glitters...

Close up of the polish

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee heart glitter!!!

Cult Nails Enticing

To celebrate Cult Nails releasing their new Fairy Tail Collection for presale i thought i would have a play with Enticing from their Divas and Drama Collection. Enticing is a sheer, clean pale pink. Its almost jelly in texture however you can build the layers up to achieve full coverage. Absolutely no complaints about this polish, its the great quality that we have all come to love from Cult Nails.

The swatches show three coats of Enticing followed by one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

Cult Nails are currently accepting orders for their new Fairy Tail Collection at their online store the collection is on special presale offer of $40.00 for 5 nail polishes which is a saving of $10.00!

Zoya Shelby and Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter

***Picture Heavy Post***

Hello kids!

Today i have a mani of many layers. First i tried Zoya Shelby which is a bright candy pink from the new Beach and Surf collection. The application wasn't as good as other Zoyas i have, needing three coats to get full coverage :-(

If you know me you'll know that i cant leave things alone so i added a coat of Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter that was sent to me from my lovely friend Emily in a swap. Pinky Glitter is pale pink iridescent glitter in a pink jelly base. The application of the glitter was smooth and even and it covered beautifully in one coat.

Sooooo pretty, yet still i wasn't satisfied so i added a coat of Essie Matte About You and pure magic happened....

The glitter just seemed to glow with the matte top coat. Yet i still wasn't satisfied, so i stamped some butterflies on my ring finger using Kleancolors Metallic Blue and Rrikk image plate DRK-A that my lovely friend Laura sent me from Brazil.

Finally I'm happy! This is a super cute summer mani :-)

Zoya Polishes are available at Zoya.com. Sinful Colors are available in many US stores and for those of us in the UK there is now a Sinful Colors website. The stamping plate is available from Llarowe.

Pretty and Polished Beach Bum

OMG I cant believe that i have now passed the 200 follower mark, how amazing are you guys!? Thank you all so much for your support and love. If you haven't already don't forget to enter my 100 follower giveaway :-)

Today has been super hot and sunny in the UK (which is a rare occurrence!) and i thought it would be fitting to have something summery for today's post. I have chosen to showcase Pretty and Polished Beach Bum. I received this a few weeks ago and it has sat in my untrieds for a while but i now see that this polish doesn't get the love it deserves.

Beach Bum is made up of tiny matte blue glitter, sprinkled with small green and blue hex glitter, small blue square glitter and a smattering of large green hex glitter suspended in a clear base. In my honest opinion i wasn't enamoured with the larger glitter so for this mani i left them out (its easy enough to drop them off the brush). I chose to layer this polish over a crisp white creme base to really show off the glitters. Application was a dream with no bald spots and nice even spacing of the glitter.

The swatches show one coat of Beach Bum over a pure white base topped off with one coat of Gelous and one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

It looks like sprinkles on a cupcake

Obligatory bottle shot!

See the squares :-)

Pretty and Polished Beach Bum is available at Chelsea's Etsy store and you can keep up to date with upcoming restocks at the Pretty and Polished Facebook page.
