Utopia Polish

Today I have three polishes from Utopia Polish to show you. I found these while browsing through Etsy and thought they looked interesting so I gave them a go in the mini size.

Beach Bum

Beach Bum is a mix of blue, purple and neon green matte and foil glitters in lots of different shapes. The application was a little challenging but it think this is mainly due to the high volume of glitter to base ratio. I used the dabbing method to get close to the look I wanted. This is quite a fun polish but I cant help but think that it would be better if it was simplified. Does it really need bar and diamond shaped glitter..?

For these swatches I layered Beach Bum over Hard Candy Sky and topped it off with one coat of Gelous and one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

Berries Delight

Berries Delight is a pink tinged violet jelly polish with loads of pink, purple and blue multisized glitter packed into it. The application here was a little easier and for the swatches I used two coats of Berries Delight and no underwear and topped it off with one coat of Gelous and one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast. My only problem with this polish is the the big pink and blue glitter makes this look a little clunky and not as delicate as it could have been.

Clunky big glitter :-(

Toxic Rainbow

Toxic Rainbow is packed with pink, yellow blue and green neon matte micro glitter plus a smattering of holographic glitter which shakes up the mix a bit. Out of the three that I have tried so far this was my favourite. The application was fairly easy, the swatches show just one coat of Toxic Rainbow layered over Cult Nails Nevermore, topped with one coat of Gelous and one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

All in all the polishes are fairly well thought out, I think the glitter volume to base is sometimes a little off and that slightly less glitter in the mix would make for easier polish to work with. The lovely lady at Utopia Polish is very sweet and her communication is spot on. I look forward to seeing what she comes up with in the future :-)

Utopia Polish's are available at their Etsy store and they also have a Facebook page too.
