Black Holographic Polish Comparison

OK so last night when I set up the 500 Follower Giveaway I asked you to suggest things that you'd like to see more of on the blog and so far one things that's overwhelming is the want for comparison posts. So I thought I'd kick off tonight with a comparison of black holographic polishes.

Here I have HITS Zeus, Jade Magia Negra, Layla Flash Black and Glitter Gal Black 3D holographic to compare.

Here is a bottle shot of them all together...

HITS Zeus, Jade Magia Negra, Layla Flash Black and Glitter Gal Black 3D Holographic

From looking at them in the bottles you can see that the HITS and the Jade are very similar, the Layla looks pretty subdued and Glitter Gal looks AWESOME.

Lets take a look at them on the nails...

On the nail you can see that the HITS and the Jade are almost identical, the difference is so slight you definitely don't need both of them, if anything I'd say that the Jade has a slightly more intense colour. They both pack a great holographic punch.

Obviously the Layla has an AMAZING linear holographic effect but I'm finding it very hard to call this polish black, when its compared to the other charcoal/black polishes it definitely looks grey.

Glitter Gal Black 3D Holographic polish came out the least dazzling which was a bit of a shock after seeing how awesome it looked in the bottle. It has a subtle scattered holographic effect, however, this is the only polish that I could truly call black out of the ones shown.

In the photo above you can see that the Jade is shade deeper than the HITS, I'd also say that if I was being picky the Jade has the edge in the holographic stakes too. Both polishes wear really well.

In the photo above it is clear that the Layla is not black at all, it is definitely grey, yes it does have great linea holographic pigment but the wear time on the Layla (in my opinion) sucks! The Jade holo I wore for three days and only had minimal tip wear, with the Layla I'm lucky to get a few hours wear.

In the above photo you can see that the Glitter Gal polish clearly lacks holographic punch compared to the other polishes. Don't get me wrong its a very pretty polish and it is the only true black holo in my collection, but it wont go winning any awards for its holo effect. The other thing that I did like about the Glitter Gal was it wears like iron!

So there you have it, the "black" holographic polishes put through their paces!

HITS and Jade polishes are available at Llarowe, Glitter Gal and Layla polishes are available at Harlow & Co.
