The Nail Junkie Apple Jelly Shimmer

Tonight I have a very special polish that was sent for me to review by the lovely Aleta at The Nail Junkie. This is the fist time someone has sent me a polish to review and I feel immensely privileged that I have been chosen to showcase one of her new summer polishes.

Truth be told I wasn't advised on which polish out of the summer line I was being sent for review and I was so excited to open my parcel this morning and find Apple Jelly Shimmer inside its little tube! I have been lemming this green jelly since I first saw them on The Nail Junkie blog, I did a little squeal!

The polish was sent in the cutest little tube along with a parcel of felt tied up in red ribbon for removing the polish with. The polish itself is a bright, neon green jelly with masses of very fine glitter and the occasional sprinkle of slightly larger (but still very small, if that makes sense!) glitter which adds another dimension. This polish is quite sheer and to get it to the opacity that is in the swatches I had to use 4 coat, however it dries fairly quickly so that's not a problem. The polish looks deliciously squishy and has real depth to it, when I first applied it all I could think of is the skin of a Granny Smiths apple! This polish would be perfect for jelly sandwiches or layering over a white creme for a more solid, neon look. I used a coat of Seche Vite over the top to give it a glossy juicy look.

See how the shimmer sparkles on the pinkie finger that is slightly out of focus?

Juicy and shimmery is a winning combination!

See the two sizes of glitter?

Yummmmmmmmmmy!

Granny Smiths Apples :-)

This gorgeous polish is one in a range of six new fruit themed polishes including a Blueberry Glitter Topper which is a bright blue glitter. In my opinion these polishes are the perfect way to get your five-a-day!

The Nail Junkies polishes are available at Aleta's online shop and information of new and older collections, sneak peeks and general fun and merriment can be found one The Nail Junkie's blog and Facebook page.
